About The Role

This is a fixed-term role of a full time Research Associate position for 24 months in a project funded by Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), and working between Swansea University and an industry partner.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate who will lead and undertake a range of project activities, including extraction, purification, characterisation and quality assurance of animal by-products, in particular serum and related materials with an industry partner. The project aims to develop high added value animal by-product for medical and pharmaceutical application.

The post holder will work closely with the project knowledge-based supervisor and leader at Swansea University and business partner supervisor.

Applications are sought from individuals with skills and experience in the field of biomedical science, chemistry and cell/tissue culture. Experience working with industry is highly desirable.  

The Research Associate will receive full training for career development, including KTP residential modules 1 and 2 and KTP Associates conference.

The Research Assistant will be based in the Centre for Nanohealth, Institute if Life Science 2 at the Singleton campus and also the site of the industry. Travel through driving between Swansea University Singleton Campus and the industry in Carmarthenshire is an important part of the job; therefore, holding a driving licence is essential for this post.
