RESEARCH CHEMIST

My client is a global leader in the manufacturing and development of firefighting technology. They are looking for a Research Chemist to join their team during a period of expansion within the company!

This role is a fully on-site position. Salary range is competitive and dependant on experience.

About the role:

• Provide leadership to the R&D team and the wider research team based in the UK and France
• Develop, test and launch new firefighting products •
• Keep on top of scientific trends within the industry
• Observe the highest safety standards
• Maintain key relationships with suppliers and other research groups
• Provide coaching and training for team members
• Set clear targets and monitor your teams progress
• Protect IP through patents and trade secrets
• Provide ongoing technical support to other manufacturing plants within the UK, USA, France and Australia
• Provide regulatory support for new and existing products
• Communicate effectively to peers and senior management

About you:

• Must hold a degree level qualification or equivalent in chemistry or a related subject
• Must have further academic or industrial experience in the formulation of water based systems using surfactants, solvents and polymers
• Must be able to lead a development project using a scientific and analytical approach, from initial ideas through to end product launch
• Must have excellent computer literacy skills
• Must have excellent communication skills through all mediums
