CfAI develops optical based instrumentation that is in use on the most advanced astronomical telescopes around the world along with a growing range of CubeSat instruments. IPPP is the national Centre for Particle Phenomenology in which particle physics data from around the world, including the Large Hadron Collider, is compared with theoretical predictions and adjustments made in the theory, to accommodate the latest expe! rimental findings. Each of these group maintains a diverse computing environment consisting of a mixture of enterprise level hardware including but not limited to computational servers, storage devices, GPU/FPGA systems and custom equipment built to support individual research projects, alongside a variety of end user systems such as desktops, laptops and other mobile devices.
