About us The UCL/UCLH Cancer 2.0 Translational Research and Surgical Innovation Programme and SSTR2 programme are flagship programmes of the newly established UCL/UCLH Cancer Biomarker Centre and funded by Genomics England (£600k) and the UCLH Charity grant (~£200k). The programme will deliver on long read sequencing of sinonasal cancers, skull base tumours and brain tumours with the aim to test the existing methylation classifiers using this advanced sequencing technology which allows genomic and epigenomic analysis at the same time and combine the data with digital pathology data and imaging data in the long-term. About the role We are seeking an enthusiastic and independent Data Scientist to join our interdisciplinary research programme within the Division of Surgery and Interventional Science. You will be working with a multidisciplinary team of clinician researchers, software engineers and electronic health record system specialists to support the following: • Conduct collaborative research to extract knowledge and insight from datasets using a variety of mathematical, statistical and computational approaches. • Develop software and scripts to implement these analyses in robust and reproducible ways. • Work with research infrastructure developers and Genomics England to deploy these into production. About you Postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional expertise appropriate to the role. Experience with the core tools of data science and analytics, in a programmatic framework such as R, Python or Julia. Interest in innovative research method development and using digital software Experience of building or managing dashboards (e.g., Tableau or Microsoft Power BI) would be advantageous.
