Research, Development and Innovation Co-ordinator

Base Location: National Headquarters/Home Working- SAS is a remote friendly employer supporting office, remote and hybrid working.

This post is a temporary position to cover maternity leave, until 28/02/2025.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has a proud history in relation to Research, Development and Innovation and we are currently seeking a highly energetic individual with relevant Research and Innovation experience to support and enable the delivery of the Service’s Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) team as set out in the 2030 Strategy.

The post holder will have a broad range of administrative and analytical experience to support the Associate Director & RDI Manager in leading the Service’s approach to develop internal capacity and capability in order to develop and deliver its Research, Development and Innovation programme.

The postholder will be responsible for the provision of appropriate coordination and support services, to assist the effective delivery of all Research, Development and Innovation activity across the Service including secretariate for complex meetings with external partners.

Working closely with and supporting the RDI Associate Director & Manager, the post holder will provide a flexible approach, establishing appropriate support, governance and information processes to meet the needs of the team.

You will have a range of administrative and analytical experience, ideally gained within the NHS with demonstrable evidence in supporting the implementation of strategy. You will possess excellent organisational & communication skills with experience of developing new systems and processes, gathering and interpreting appropriate management information and preparing detailed reports.

To be successful in your application, you will also have:

  • Experience in gathering and interpreting data to support improvement activity.
  • Experience of researching & drafting reports, including business cases.
  • Experience of communicating with a wide range of internal & external stakeholders
  • Experience of managing and coordinating a range of support services, including the management and development of staff.
  • An ability to record, track and interpret budgetary information.
  • Evidence of an interest in innovation and change management work.
