About the new equalities research centre:

The new Centre for Equalities in Uniformed Public Services is a £11.3 million investment in uniformed public services research by UKRI and represents a substantial increase in ARU’s research capacity. Key objectives of the new Centre include producing excellent underpinning research into cultural transformation in uniformed public services, and adopting a strongly collaborative approach with local, regional, and national uniformed public services organisations to tacking issues around equality, diversity, and inclusion. The new Centre brings together the strengths of two of ARU’s existing outstanding Research Institutes (the Veterans and Families Institute (VFI) and the Policing Institute for the Eastern Region (PIER)).  

 

About the Role:

The Research and Innovation Development Office (RIDO) provides a focal point to support a significant planned increase in our research capacity and effectiveness.  The Research Funding and Impact Manager role will work closely with the leadership and staff of our new Centre. The role-holder will help drive a substantial growth in our excellent research with impact, identifying grant funding opportunities, facilitating multi-disciplinary research collaborations, and identifying, supporting, and growing pathways to impact. The new Centre will have a strongly collaborative approach with local, regional, and national uniformed public services organisations to tackle issues around equality, diversity, and inclusion. This role will also include work to support both PIER and the VFI.

 

You will have higher degree plus significant demonstrable professional experience relevant to the role or relevant professional qualification at post graduate level and significant demonstrable professional experience relevant to this role.  Alongside significant experience of working in a UK HE environment, and a successful track-record in supporting large-scale Research Funding applications you will have a sound knowledge of HE research support infrastructure, including the systems and processes for identifying, capturing, and reporting on research impact.
