About us
We are a cell therapy and advanced biologics company with laboratories based in the South-West, United Kingdom. We are a small team who are passionate about developing advanced therapies. Our business is currently expanding our research and development, manufacturing and analytical capabilities.
We’re hiring a full-time Research Scientist to support research and process development of cell and protein-based therapeutics.
Role overview
You will carry out a range of research-related and process development activities as well as maintain both GMP regulated and non-GMP laboratory areas. These include maintaining cell lines, purifying proteins, cell and protein assays, imaging samples, as well as gene expression analysis. Techniques will include cell biology, protein biochemistry and molecular biology. Full training will be given for all tasks as well as training verification tests as required by our internal systems.
What is the working environment like?
The facility is a large building comprising of laboratories, offices and a warehouse area which includes two newly installed cleanroom laboratories. The role requires working within general research laboratories as well as within a quality assured cleanroom environment. We are a small and friendly team whose focus is on cooperation and striving for excellence to drive the business forward and make it a success.
Skills needed for the role
We are looking for a committed, passionate individual with a willingness to learn. The candidate will be self-motivated, reliable, possess good communication skills and have a strong attention to detail. A methodical and conscientious approach to tasks is ideal. Flexibility and ability to work independently is key as duties and tasks can change depending on requirements.
Key Requirements
The applicant will have completed an undergraduate degree in science at a minimum. Creative, passionate about discovery, excited to push science forward and comfortable in a laboratory setting are essential. Preference for locally based candidates. Laboratory, cell culture, protein purification and analysis experience are beneficial.
