This dynamic business isrecruiting for a talented Research Scientist to develop fundamental and translational research projects through careful management, scientific insight and rigour. With significant research experience in a technically focused, manufacturing environment you will use your proven success rate to generate novel data and translate into commercial relevance.
**This role potentially involves training between 3-6 months in the USA within the first 12 months**
The main duties include:
Performing individual research projects from concept to handover
Preparing detailed project plans, including milestones and planned duration
Manging project resources, internal and external to maximise efficiency of use, working directly with local entities to ensure projects are delivered as agreed
Participating in scientific forums communicating the relevance and value of research to the wider business at all levels
Review and understand the global product range, processes and technologies and identify areas for improvement
Building internal and external collaborative networks, external links to be with academic and commercial organisations
Translation of research findings into new product, process development projects and other change processes.

An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills. The capability to delivered results in a matrixed environment. The ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders. The ability to draw expertise from across the group and supply strong data analysis.
The Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in a material, organic, biochemistry or chemical engineering discipline. Proven research experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
