We are currently recruiting for a band 4 Research support officer to join the team at the Lantern centre in Preston.
This is a perfect role for someone passionate to develop their career in research.
The post-holder will be responsible for providing data management and research administrative support as needed for clinical studies activities. They will assist the research Nurses and clinical studies officers in their clinical contacts with study participants & may, depending on the study, be expected to carry out some research activities, including communicating with patients and relatives, giving brief information concerning the research and /or collecting data direct from participants as described in the research protocol.
As one of the core team members you will enjoy working in a busy environment and support research activity across the Trust, particularly in the area of mental health, physical health, Learning disabilities, autism and dementia. The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with the Research management team, the wider research team, Network and Trust colleagues in order to support the active research portfolio at the Trust and ensure all studies across the organisation, within the NIHR portfolio, are undertaken to the highest standards within timelines and meeting recruitment targets.
The Trust delivers high quality Clinical Research Trials working in partnership with the North West Coast Clinical Research Network and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We currently have a strong portfolio of research with over 90 active studies.
Lancashire &South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
