Job description

Our client, based in the West Midlands, is currently recruiting for a Resettlement Worker on a permanent basis or a three-month contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a part-time basis, 22.5 hours per week. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position and the annual salary is £20,849 - £22,099 (pro rota).

The ideal candidate will have experience using a client-centred approach, hold an Enhanced DBS taken out within the last three years and also have access to their own vehicle.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Working with women and their children using evidence-based tools to risk assess and identify their needs

  • Developing and delivering individual support, safety and risk management plans to address the risk of harm to clients who are leaving the Refuge at short notice

  • Assessing the long-term safety, security and wellbeing of families in their move-on plans, improving their future resilience and building knowledge of their options

  • Liaising with outside agencies and building relationships with local authorities about the risks and needs of victims

  • Ensuring that any issues in relation to safeguarding children or vulnerable adults are brought to the immediate attention of the manager

  • Working closely with other Refuge staff to ensure a seamless handover of support from the caseworker to Resettlement worker

Experience required:

  • Using a trauma-based approach when supporting clients

  • Creating and implementing risk assessments

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Be able to communicate clearly and build relationships

  • Maintaining professional boundaries and knowing when to seek guidance from managers

Working hours:

  • 22.5 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am - 5pm (daily hours negotiable)
