Job Title: Resident Engineer - Mechanical
Location: South West England, Devon, Plymouth

Job Duties:- Carry out on-site inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with mechanical engineering standards and regulations
- Conduct regular maintenance and repairs of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and machinery
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, proposing and implementing effective solutions
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to provide technical expertise and guidance
- Create and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of mechanical systems, recommending improvements and upgrades
- Manage and oversee subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines
- Maintain accurate documentation, including records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs
- Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, regulations, and best practises in mechanical engineering
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar role
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and machinery
- Proficiency in technical drawing software and other relevant engineering tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Engineering role
Knowledge and Skills:- In-depth understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practises
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Proficiency in technical drawing software and other engineering tools
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols in the construction industry
- Chartered Engineer status
- Experience in the construction industry
- Additional certifications in relevant areas
This position requires frequent on-site work in construction environments, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. The candidate must be physically capable of performing tasks associated with the role, including lifting and standing for extended periods. The ability to travel to different work sites and occasional work outside of regular business hours may be required.
