Brook Street Social Care is offering a new exciting and rewarding role as a Children support worker within an amazing Residential Care Home in Bristol.
You will be ensuring that security of the Unit is maintained at all times: preventing absconding or any attempt to escape; ensuring young people are appropriately and securely locked within their own designated areas at the correct times; and undertaking room searches as required.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Contribute to the protection of young people from abuse including bullying and intimidation by others.
- To undertake the care, supervision, and control of young person resident in the Unit, assisting in the identification and assessment of their problems, needs and potential.
- To contribute to the formulation, implementation and evaluation of individual residents programmes and maintain appropriate records.
- To establish good, professional relationships with young people who display high risk and often challenging behaviour and to model pro-social behaviour.
- Support young people experiencing change in their provision of care, via induction into the unit and preparation for leaving.
- Liaise with a variety of interested agencies and parties including appropriate recording of actions.
- To contribute and participate in the education of the young people, including assisting with in-class studies and homework.
ABOUT YOU:
- Excellent communication skills and professional attitude
- You are HIGHLY MOTIVATED, ORGANISED and RESOURCFUL.
- You are willing to undertake training and development activity, including achievement of the NVQ III programme within an agreed timescale.
- You can assist in the compliance with Health and Safety regulations, including ensuring the maintenance of fire precautions, fire drills and familiarisation of evacuation procedures.
