Job description

I am currently working closely with an Ofsted rated outstanding SEN school in the North West Kent location. The school is an independent SEN residential school with charity status, providing a therapeutically informed learning environment for children aged 10 - 19. Pupils at the school have suffered some form of trauma and are unable to access mainstream education.

The school are looking to appoint a dynamic and committed residential support worker to support students in a residential environment with life skills, extra-curricular activities and day to day living. This will be as bank staff and on an adhoc basis covering, annual leave, sickness etc. Working as a member of the care team, you will also be required to support across the wider school team as well. An ability to teach, motivate and cultivate a positive and dynamic environment for students is essential.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle

  • Experience of working with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • Diploma in Childcare/Social Care Level 3 (desirable but not essential)
  • Position: Residential Support Worker
  • Hours: Term Time Only (39 weeks)
  • 14:00 - 23:00 Monday - Thursday
  • Rate of Pay: 12.31pr hr
  • Bank Staff - Supply

Due to the rural location along with the possibility of supporting pupils offsite, own transport is essential.

Candidates Must:

  • Provide an enhanced DBS registered to the update service, or be willing to pay for a new DBS ( 38) and then subscribe to the update service ( 13)
  • Have no recent criminal convictions/cautions.
  • Have a full original birth certificate, full driving licence and or/valid passport.
  • If you have been a resident for less than 5 years in the UK, a right to work visa (non-EU) and a criminal background check from any country resided in for 6 months or more within the past 5 years must be provided.
