This organisation is an award-winning provider of residential care for children and young people between the ages of 8-18 years. They have 4 houses across Edinburgh that can cater to up to 3 children and young people for 1:1 support. We are looking for a Residential Childcare Worker to provide outstanding care and support to young people to enable them to have the lives they truly deserve.
Day to Day of the Role:- Provide specialised care to children and young people with complex and challenging behaviours.
- Work alongside young people to promote the development of life skills, self-esteem, confidence, and resilience.
- Adapt and respond flexibly to the social, emotional, and physical needs of the young people.
- Maintain a 1:1 staffing ratio, ensuring competent and confident care.
- Transport young people using company vehicles as required.
- Work unsocial hours, including weekends, and participate in shift patterns that may include full days, sleep-ins, and on-call duties.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience the UK in Residential Childcare.
- Experience with a range of support needs, including traumatic life experiences, family breakdown, and disability.
- Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration as a Residential Childcare Worker.
- Clean driving licence is essential.
- Ability to work unsocial hours, including weekends.
- HNC/SVQ3 or equivalent for Residential Child Care Workers.
