Job description

KPI Care are looking for a dynamic, ambitious and experienced qualified Residential Childrens Manager who has worked with Children and Young People providing therapeutic, trauma informed care to vulnerable Young Adults to a 3-bedded home.

My client is a well-established company, who are rapidly expanding and opening a brand-new children’s home in Shropshire for children aged between 11-18 years who are experiencing extreme trauma and are at high risk of further exploitation.

Position: Residential Childrens Manager
Location: Shropshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: up to £49,902 (plus bonus scheme)

Desired qualifications required are level 5 Diploma Children & Young Persons Leadership and Management.

Responsibilities as a Residential Childrens Manager:

  • To lead and manage the children’s home and ensure the efficient operation of the service in accordance with the relevant legislation, procedures, policies and the Statement of Purpose for the home.
  • To provide high quality care that supports the needs of the young people, to be an advocate for their well-being and to provide strong, motivational leadership to staff.
  • Leadership and management of the children’s home by overseeing the day-to-day operations and direct line management of the seniors and residential support
  • To develop and implement programmes of care and education based on the assessment of individual need and developmentally appropriate.
  • To ensure that the policies of Helpful Investments, in regards to the care and management of the Children’s home are carried out.
  • To lead regulatory inspections, ensuring are care, education and health services are of high-quality and evidenced during inspection.

Requirements:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare
  • Manual Driver’s License
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a residential setting (with at least 2 of these being in a managerial position within a children’s residential home)
  • Working knowledge of the Childrens Home (England) Regulations 2015, including the quality standards for the registration and inspection of children’s home
