Residential Property Paralegal

Coventry / Hybrid 

Salary circa £25,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience

We are working with an independent, Legal 500-listed law firm based in Coventry, who are seeking a Paralegal to join their busy Residential Conveyancingteam, on a permanent, full-time basis.

The successful candidate will ideally have a law degree or equivalent, or, as a minimum, currently working towards a full qualification in law. You must have some experience of running your own cases from start to finish within Residential Property as this position will be a mix of running your own small caseload and supporting on additional cases too. 

The role involves:

• Managing a small caseload of Residential Property files including sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties
• Providing support to the team on additional Residential Property files
• Delivering service excellence to all clients
• Liaising with clients and third party professionals
• Taking new client instructions
• Use of case management system
• Drafting/typing of correspondence and legal documents
• Drafting first drafts of legal documents such as leases, transfers, deeds and agreements
• Preparing the first draft of the report of title which may be freehold or leasehold
• Dealing with the progression of files
• Reviewing title and searches and raising enquires
• Preparing and submitting SDLT forms
• Preparing and submitting applications to the Land Registry
• Use of MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
• Liaising with existing and potential clients, and business contacts in a professional manner

Suitable candidates will have:

• Previous experience of managing Residential Property files from start to finish
• Ideally a law degree or equivalent, or currently working towards a qualification in law
• Attention to detail
• Exceptional telephone manner & communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage time effectively
• Excellent organisational skills
• Previous experience of using a case management system

This is a full time, permanent position with a maximum of 3 days per week from home and a minimum of 2 days in the office accommodated per week. You must be willing to come into the office full time initially for the first 2 or 3 months during your initial training and induction period to integrate with the team. The role is working 9:00am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday with a 1 hour lunch break.
