We are looking to recruit a motivated, person centered, Residential Support worker to work in our progressive 'Outstanding' short break service supporting children and young people who have a learning disability , autism and / or physical disability.
The candidate must be over the age of 21 and have significant experience of supporting children and young people with these types of needs and have experience of working in a residential setting
This work is often demanding, but also very fulfilling, you will be working with children or young people who have a learning disability, autism, physical disability and/or complex health needs who can be especially vulnerable or challenging due to their disability and/or life experiences.
These young people may have had adverse childhood experiences which need to be considered alongside their other needs.
The post holder needs to be a positive role model who is ambitious for our children and young people, supporting them to fulfill their potential. You will be required to support with personal care, administration of medication and supporting children on activities.
Candidates will be expected to work on shift evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Sleep-ins as and when reqired.
It is essential requirement to hold a Level 2 qualification or other equivalent qualifications to be considered (in an associated field i.e. Child Care, Youth Work, Working with Children and Young People).
You must also have the willingness and ability to successfully achieve the essential level 3 qualification for this role within 12 months of commencement in the role.
