Residential Support Worker (Children’s Home) - The Deaf Academy

Rolle House is a registered Children’s Home specialising in supporting Deaf young people with complex needs. The Home has a distinct ethos as being nurturing and child-centred, applying therapeutic and trauma informed approaches (Thrive). In this role you will develop your skills and as part of a passionate and caring team and have opportunities to grow in your career. You will be supported to upskill, and develop all aspects of continued professional development, within the arena of, residential care for young people with complex needs and neurodiversity.

In the day-to-day aspect of your role as Residential Support Worker, you will be supporting our young people in developing their everyday opportunities, creating fun and developmental activities that support their wellbeing and independence. All helping to create happy memories as part of the young people’s childhood experiences. Working on a rota as part of a team of 4, you will work around 35 hours (including sleep-ins as part of a 24 hour shift) as part of a 3-week shift pattern. You will combine maintaining a well-run, clean, and cared for home whilst meeting the daily needs of the young people's care, enjoyment, and achievement.

• Experience of working with children with complex needs, and a desire to work within a Care setting
• A caring and resilient personality who really wants to make a difference to young people’s lives
• The drive and motivation to achieve outstanding outcomes for the young people we support
• Proven experience with working in a successful team 
• Commitment to training and development, including sponsorship to achieve BSL and NVQ L3 in Residential Care (Children and Young People)

*Regular sleep-ins will be required with the role and paid at a rate of £45 per night, these are not contractual or guaranteed. The minimum salary for this role with no sleep-in rate applied is £22,051pa. The salary including sleep-ins may be up to £25,051pa (or £29,252 for those at top of the pay scale).

Salary progression is based on the completion of BSL qualifications up to Level 3 and the attainment of the Level 3 Residential Childcare Diploma, both are sponsored by the academy.
