Job Title:Residential Youth Support Worker
Job Location: Sherwood, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £26,544 - £28,471 (inclusive of 1 sleep in per week and attendance bonus)

The Role:
As a Residential Youth Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in the lives of young people who require social, emotional, and mental health support. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing day-to-day care and support to young people.
Assisting in daily routines to ensure their well-being.
Encouraging engagement with educational support and homework.
Organising and participating in recreational activities.
Creating a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Build strong relationships with young people, promoting trust and emotional well-being.
Empower and motivate them to achieve their goals and overcome challenges.
Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere within the home.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for the young people in your care.
What you’ll bring:
Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in young people’s lives.
A willingness to work towards or current qualification in QCF level 3 in Residential Childcare.
Previous experience working with children or young people is a plus but not mandatory.
Resilience to be able to deal with challenging situations.
Positive role model – honesty and empathy are a must.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Ofsted regulations outline that Support Workers working with children and young people must be 3 years older than the oldest young person within the home e.g., if a young person in the home was turning 18, you would need to be 21 at a minimum.
