SalaryTradewind Recruitment are working on behalf of a primary school in Kings Heath, Birmingham, who are committed to providing an inclusive and high-quality of education for all students. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary School Resource Base Teacher with expertise in working with children diagnosed with autism.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a qualified teacher to join our Resource Base team, specialising in supporting children with autism within a mainstream primary school setting. The successful candidate will be pivotal in creating an inclusive learning environment and implementing effective strategies to meet the diverse needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Individualised Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement personalised education plans to address the specific needs and goals of each child with autism.
Collaboration with Support Staff: Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and other professionals to create a cohesive team that provides comprehensive support for children with autism.
Differentiated Instruction: Implement a range of teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities, ensuring equal opportunities for all students.
Behavioural Management: Utilise positive behaviour support strategies to manage and address challenging behaviours, fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment.
Parental Engagement: Foster strong partnerships with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and actively involving them in the development and review of IEPs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant teaching experience.
Specialised training or experience in working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices for teaching children with autism.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
