Job description

The Scottish Government has committed £32 million of Whole Family wellbeing Funding to Children’s Services Planning Partnerships(CSPP) across Scotland to build local capacity for transformational whole system change and to scale up and drive the delivery of holistic whole family support services. This is a key element of how we will Keep the Promise by ensuring families can access the support they need, where and when they need it.

North Lanarkshire Childrens Services Partnership have made it a priority to improve public information and direct access to empower families to directly access a range of services and supports to meet their needs. The www.girfecinnl website is key in hosting information for children, young people and families and our workforce.

A range of new and refreshed GIRFEC guidance was published in September 2022 and it is important that this is communicated to families and staff.

We are looking for a creative and innovative Resource Worker, who is passionate about keeping The Promise and Getting it Right for Every Child. Based within North Lanarkshire Council’s Education and Families, you will work closely with the Whole Family Support and Wellbeing Lead and the GIRFEC Delivery Group.

The role will include development of information and signposting materials by working with designated staff in each partnership agency and work with children, young people and families to improve understanding of GIRFEC and increase the impact of their voices on how they can be supported at the earliest stage. You will develop and maintain the girfecinnl website to include information for families on supports available within North Lanarkshire including early intervention supports (one stop shop). You will assist with all development work on behalf of the GIRFEC delivery group including raising awareness of GIRFEC across the North Lanarkshire partnership and to support increased knowledge and develop communication methods to spread and sustain good practice. You will provide information, signposting and guidance to individual stakeholders in relation to GIRFEC policy and practice and produce newsletters and blogs and any other duties as required by the evolving nature of the Programmes.

You will support the Whole Family Support and Wellbeing Lead across the Resilient People programme of work, including the areas of Whole Family Support, Community Mental Health & Wellbeing for children and young people and other associated projects. You will be used to support areas of work that are designed to be innovative and transforms systems, the individual should have confidence in managing challenges and new ideas.

The role will contribute to the delivery improved outcomes for children, families and young people, and support North Lanarkshire fulfil its commitment to keep The Promise.

You must hold an HNC relating to a relevant discipline e.g. social care/community learning and development with relevant work experience in a social work/CLD/education setting that involves engaging with children and young people. We need a creative person who has excellent IT and digital skills and the ability to interrogate and present reports and information to a wide range of audiences.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
