The opportunity
Due to projects ramping up, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Responsible Engineer to join our bustling team of nuclear specialists, where you will lead a team of Engineers in the delivery of projects to time, cost and quality.
The role
As the Responsible Engineer- Mechanical will deliver capabilities to ensure the right material, is in the right package and in the right store to maintain safe and secure storage of material.
This role has been deemed inside of IR35
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- To lead a team of discipline engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of specified functional work that achieves safety, functional, legislative and business requirements.
- To set the assurance strategy ensuring correct stakeholder buy in at the correct time including all required design reviews, assistance reviews and any other assurance activities.
- To carryout effective and proportionate risk management and assurance activities including to call functional engineering or design capability reviews, especially in relation to novel techniques or solutions which carry significant financial, technical, design or programme risk.
- To collaborate in the selection and development of optimised, balanced and practical design solutions balancing aspects of safety and environmental performance, operational effectiveness and constructability.
- To ensure that SQEP competent resources are used to prepare, check and approve design work packages.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
- Qualified Chartered Engineer.
- At least 8 years of experience in relevant Project design work.
- Experience of Front-End Engineering Design, Options generation and down selection.
- Experience in leading a team.
