Job description

Thank you for your interest in the post of Responsible Tourism Trainee with Historic Environment Scotland (HES). This is a 12 month fixed term and pensionable appointment. This role is due to commence from October 2024.
This post will be part of a wider programme of Conservation Traineeships. Trainees will have the opportunity to gain experience in their chosen field of conservation, increase knowledge of the wider conservation sector, expand their professional network and have access to a wide range of learning resources and opportunities from the Engine Shed, Scotland’s dedicated Conservation Resource Centre.
You will work with the Climate Change Policy team, supporting the delivery of the HES Climate Action Plan 2020-2025 and Responsible Tourism Framework, gaining skills in developing climate action projects and activities, sustainable in-person and virtual events planning and delivery, and implementing Responsible Tourism principles.
This presents an exciting opportunity for someone early in their career to get an insight into Responsible Tourism, climate change, heritage and conservation.
