In January 2024, we acquired the 17th century Barnsley House hotel that is tucked away in the quintessential Cotswold’s village of Barnsley, just four miles from Cirencester. THE PIG – and The Village Pub offers guests a classic example of an English country garden that evolves with the seasons including a kitchen garden that will supply the produce found on our 25-mile menu.
We are delighted to announce the start of our recruitment for THE PIG – and The Village Pub and are seeking for a Restaurant Supervisor to support our restaurant service.
The Role:
For our Restaurant Supervisor, each day at THE PIG is never the same. Working closely with our kitchen team to deliver a daily changing menu, you will gain inspiration from serving seasonal produce grown within our own kitchen garden and sourced by local suppliers all within a 25mile radius of the hotel. As Supervisor you will play a key role in encouraging our Waiting Staff to develop their skills, you will lead by example and set the tone for a relaxed and informal restaurant service.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Take orders and serve food and oversee the efficiency of service sections within the restaurant.
- Provide a detailed service with a relaxed and informal approach.
- Lead by example, supporting the development of our Waiting Staff
- Encourage an attention to detailed service.
- Understanding of dietary requirements.
- Preparing and clearing of tables, ensuring the restaurant is kept well presented.
- Excellent communication with both the team and guests, having a caring & considered approach in all that you do.
- Report to and fulfil additional responsibilities assigned by the Restaurant Manager and/or Assistant Restaurant Manager.
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience as Restaurant Supervisor and/or Head Waiter in a hotel, restaurant or similar environment is required. We are seeking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude, thriving from working in an attention to detailed environment.
