Job Title: Retail Assistant
Locations: Chesterfield (S44)
Hourly Pay Rate: £10.94 per hour
Hours: Shift patterns include, 10am to 5pm, 12pm to 8pm, 3pm to 8pm (Monday to Friday)
Contract: Temporary (initially 8 weeks with potential to extend)
Gi Group Recruitment are now seeking to appoint a Retail Assistant to our Public Sector client based in Chesterfield. The successful candidate will have experience in a retail environment and be customer focused. They will possess strong teamwork qualities and a demonstrate a willingness to learn on the job.
Duties of the Retail Assistant

• Serving customers with a smile ensuring that they walk away happy with the service that you have provided.
• Cash handling and use of electronic card machines daily.
• Participate in on-the-job training.
• Assist in ensuring that all stored food items are used within use by/best before dates.
• Work with your team to maintain health & safety and cleanliness across the store.
• Basic preparation of food items in a food safe manner.
• To work in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations.

Criteria

• Previous experience working in a catering or retail environment.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• You will often need to multitask, therefore a hard-working attitude is key here.
• Ability to work to timescales in a busy environment where you will occasionally have conflicting tasks presented.
• Flexibility to work across all shift patterns mentioned (10am to 5pm, 12pm to 8pm, 3pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday)
