Retail Assistant

Irwin Farm Supplies is a family-owned business based in Eglish, Co. Tyrone, convenient to M1. The business has been trading for over 25 years and has grown significantly of latter years. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our team who can interact in a friendly manner and make our customer experience great.

About The Role

Working as part of a team, the Retail Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Shop Manager with day-to-day running of the shop. This includes serving customers, organising the shop floor and unpacking deliveries.

This is a part time position, 27 hours per week, over 3 days per week (days to be agreed with successful candidate). Shop hours are 8.30 am – 5.30 pm. In addition, there will also be a requirement to work Saturday mornings (8.30 am – 1.00 pm) on a rota basis. The role is based in Irwin Farm Supplies, Eglish.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receiving, checking, unpacking and arranging new shipments from suppliers and vendors;
• Arranging and labelling goods in the display shelves and carrying out stocktakes;
• Assisting customers in finding the products they’re looking for;
• Processing customer payments at the checkout point/till;
• Addressing customer complaints and enquiries;
• Collaborating with other team members to keep the sales floor area clean and organised at all times;
• Assisting with updating social media platforms and processing online orders;
• Any other duties as may be required.

Required Criteria

• Possess a knowledge and awareness of the NI agricultural Industry and agricultural products;
• Positive attitude and approach, highly motivated to provide excellent customer service;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels;
• Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team;
• Proficient in using social media platforms and MS Office – Word & Excel;
• Good organisational skills and ability to proactively manage and prioritise a busy workload;
• Accuracy in work and high attention to detail.

Desirable

• Experience of working in retail and/or customer services is desirable, however full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
• AMTRA/RAMA Qualification beneficial but not essential as opportunity may be given to undertake the qualification.
