SALARY: £109,285 - £128,570
LOCATION(S):
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in one of the above office locations
About this opportunity
We have an opportunity for an experienced Finance Professional to join our Retail Finance team. As the Head of Finance, Homes, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our mortgage business. With over 2 million mortgage customers and a lending portfolio exceeding £300 billion, we are proud to be the largest mortgage lender in the UK.
This role presents an ideal opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the underlying drivers and dynamics underpinning our Homes business, gaining significant exposure to senior colleagues across a variety of teams and financial functions.
In this role you will lead the financial strategy and performance management of the Homes business.
Day to day you’ll;
  • Collaborate with Product directors to create robust operational and finance plans aligned with wider Group objectives.
  • Provide business strategy support by bringing in external context and analysis, returns analysis, understanding of balance sheet dynamics and actively contributing to review sessions with the Homes Executive team.
  • Enhance the team’s analytical and presentational capabilities. Explain and challenge the Homes financial story, linking business decisions to financial outcomes.
  • Take the lead on finance topics such as hedging, capital management, funding, and market risk. Assess profitability impacts from interest rate changes, new product introductions, and business opportunities.
  • Ensure effective financial reporting and operational controls.
  • Contribute to stress testing processes to accurately reflect risks in the retail bank.

What you’ll need
We seek a dynamic leader with:
  • Track record in finance BUSINESS PARTNERING leadership roles, ideally within mortgages or retail banking with strong industry knowledge.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to think long-term, evaluate market trends, and shape business strategy.
  • Strong analytical skills to drive data-driven decisions.
  • Adept at building relationships, working across functions building relationships and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Professional qualification; e.g. MBA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CFA
