Outline of role

To support the continuing growth of the company, you will provide accurate and timely reports, insight and analysis for the business to support decision making. With support from the rest of the finance team, we need you to lead and deliver cost savings, accuracy improvements and initiatives within key cost areas. You will need to collaborate with both other finance and also non-finance teams to ensure that any initiatives or cost savings are maximised within the group.
Key Responsibilities
  • To produce accurate daily, weekly & monthly reporting for the regional, central & property teams and support with the transition of regular reporting to Power BI
  • Support Senior Management & operations team with presentations and ad hoc reporting & analysis
  • Full accountability for selected cost centre monitoring and control (incl. posting accruals and prepayments)
  • To manage and accurately account for store variable costs within the P&L, ranging from property cost lines to variable and store controllable costs. This will involve, controlling and accounting accurately throughout the year.
  • Maintaining and developing the relationship with our third parties to ensure efficient management of our account and implement improvements where possible.
  • Produce accurate budgeting & forecasts of the key store costs & selected cost centres
  • Work with non-finance colleagues to identify and implement cost saving measures across your areas of responsibility

Person Specification
  • Strong communication skills
  • High attention to detail and enjoy fact-finding
  • Structured and logical approach to work
  • Good Excel skills and ability and desire to master other technical skills quickly
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Basic Power BI familiarity would be a plus

Education and background
Retail environment awareness preferred but not essential
Studying (or intending to study) for an accountancy qualification
