The role 

 

To lead, manage and develop the Retouch team delivering end to end retouching services within the ecom photo studio, and also for N Brown creative photography. Support internal stakeholders from Studio, Creative, Buying & Marketing in the mass production of quality focussed product assets in an agile way. To have accountability for ensuring Retouchers are the quality gatekeepers who will determine and manage the quality thresholds we desire for our customer facing communications.

What will you do as a Retouching Manager at N Brown

  • Leadership of the in house Retouch team, across ecom, creative retouch and also external suppliers and freelance where required.  

  • Providing retouching creative direction to the team that delivers against the Studios, Creative Art Directors, and brief requirements 

  • Providing reporting, issue management and standards management. 

  • Accountability for ensuring the team deliver industry leading retouching to create premium imagery for N Brown customers. 

  • Responsible for the fast processing of assets and delivering to KPI and SLA. Targeting a smooth, transparent and consistent production service, escalating any impacts and issues to schedule, capacity and quality.  

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure we get a consistent product output, which matches the Creative and Studio brief, whilst working in a highly productive environment. 

  • Liaise with Studio Photography Management and Leads to align on image standards, specifications and process, and to gate keep ‘retouch versus reshoot’ 

  • Develop existing team capability, methods and techniques through mentoring and direction – creating an industry leading retouch function. Constantly review and develop team capability to deliver best in class team 

  • Define and implement clear quality standards and ensure delivery of consistency across team, including Colour Management. 

  • Where required, liaise with the external provider to traffic additional retouch requirements. 

  • Evaluate studio output and provide feedback to stakeholders where required, ensuring that each asset meets or exceeds the agreed standards and supports/drives efficiencies. 

  • Develop and knowledge share with the team, to install production best practice, communication and decision making excellence for long term efficiencies.    

What skills and experience will you have? 

  • Exceptional proven leadership skills 

  • Super strong attention to detail and natural creative flair  

  • Previous experience working within a similar eCommerce photographic studio or creative agency in a similar image processing or creative production role  

  • Exceptional colour correcting skills  

  • High technical and creative proficiency in model and still life retouching  

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of retouching workflows 

  • Professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills  

  • Ability to be diligent, take initiative and work calmly under pressure. Also to organise and prioritise workload, multi-task using effective time management skills  

  • Excellent problem solving skills with an ability to change priorities quickly and accept change with a positive attitude  

  • Ability to maintain a high quality of work whilst working in a fast paced environment  

  • Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to meet deadlines
