Job Description

About the Role

We are growing our People team! As a result of continued growth, we have created a new role to lead the day-to-day Reward, Payroll and Benefits activity across our business.

You would be joining us during an exciting period of significant change and transformation for the People function. We are currently implementing Workday to improve our working processes and people experience, alongside this we are managing a project to bring our payroll in house. You will be working closely with the People Operations Manager and the wider people team to support the implementation of these changes and lead the delivery of reward, benefit, and payroll services.

You may be currently be working in a Reward role, or a more generalist role where you are involved in reward related activity. Or you could be working in a Payroll role and are keen to move into a wider reward role. Ideally, you will have experience with Payroll, but if not, a willingness to learn and be accountable for all payroll related matters is important. Experience with Workday would be an advantage, but not essential. Most importantly you will be a self-starter, who is proactive and willing to learn.

It’s an exciting time to join a friendly and energising People team and shape this role to redefine the HR service and processes we deliver. If you are excited by the opportunity, but don’t think you are an exact fit, we would still like to hear from you, so please get in contact to discuss the role further.

We are proud to have received Great Places to Work accreditation, which reflects our ambition to bring out the best in our people.

  • Leading all Payroll activity, including the processing of monthly payroll and ensuring all the statutory reporting requirements of payroll are met.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing adoption of Workday in providing reward, benefits, and payroll services.
  • Planning and facilitating the annual pay review, reviewing the annual pay scales and providing reporting and analysis as required.
  • Completing Gender pay reporting, creating the appropriate reports and analysing the data to support the development of plans to close any gaps.
  • Leading and managing the job evaluation and benchmarking process – submitting data to Willis Towers Watson (WTW) and setting and agreeing pay bands each year, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure that pay decisions are appropriate.
  • Working with the HR Operations manager to manage the annual benefits renewals.
  • Promote and report on take up of our employee benefits offering.
  • Acting as a main point of contact for pay and benefits queries.

About You

  • Previous experience of working with HR systems.
  • Previous reward related experience to include pay benchmarking, creation of pay scales, and pay review planning.
  • Exceptional organisation, time management skills and commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Able to prioritise work under a rapidly changing, pressure-filled, fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a positive attitude without supervision.
  • Ability to proactively organise own workload and manage ambiguity.
  • A proactive style and can-do attitude, who takes initiative and demonstrates a willingness to help others.
  • Confident, person-centric communication skills demonstrated by experience in communicating verbally and in writing with employees at all levels.
  • Good problem-solving skills

Desired Skills:

  • Experience of working with an ERP e.g. Workday
