Job description

About the Job

We are looking for Riggers (All Levels) to become a pivotal role in Aardman’s latest flagship Shaun the Sheep project.
The rigging function helps to identify complex shots and offer practical solutions. The Rigging Department is responsible for identifying, designing and creating Rigs (mechanical support systems) to use with all puppets, props and sets to enable easier and more efficient shooting on stop frame productions.
By using various equipment in storage, from scaffold, to motorised linear tracking systems, Riggers will be required to liaise and work in conjunction with the relevant departments to achieve quick and efficient rigging solutions to shots prior to shooting.
You will be responsible for rigging shots quickly and efficiently whilst being collectively responsible for the maintenance of all rigging equipment. Use of certain electrical tools/machinery will be necessary.
We are looking for people with previous experience of working as a Rigger on at least one previous longform stop frame animation production.
You will be able to construct extra rigging elements as required for production and have a pro-active attitude to solving problems related to Rigging issues.
We will be reviewing applications for interview as they’re submitted.
Closing date for all applications is Thursday 7th March 2024.
Start and End Date: Approx April 2024- December 2024
Hours: 40 per week
Location: Aztec West Studio, Bristol
Salary: Depending on Experience
