Risk and Compliance Solicitor/ Manager

You will be working for a well established legal 500 firm based in Bournemouth.

Your new role

You will be working as a Risk and Compliance Manager/ Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP). This role is a very important role for the firm as they are seeking to expand their compliance team and centralise some compliance responsibilities which currently sit with partners within the business.
You will be working closely with the Managing Partner and the other Risk & Compliance Manager to ensure compliance by the firm with all legal, regulatory and professional rules.
Responsibilities include:

• Keeping up to date with emerging risk issues and regulatory changes. Using this knowledge to continually improve Risk and Compliance across all areas of the business.
• Providing accurate and timely legal, regulatory, Risk and Compliance advice and guidance to all in the firm.
• Delivering Risk and Compliance training to the firm, as and when required, and implementing the firm's annual compliance training program.
• Reviewing and implementing any required changes to the firm's existing compliance policies, plans, controls and procedures.
• Drafting and implementing new policies, controls and procedures as required in order to maintain the firm's compliance with all regulatory requirements and current legislation.
• Reporting promptly to the SRA of the existence of any matter which is capable of amounting to a serious breach of the SRA's regulatory arrangements.
• Acting as the firm's deputy MLRO.

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
• A detailed understanding of the SRA's Standards and Regulations, AML regulations, Data Protection legislation and any other relevant legislation and professional rules.
