Risk and Resilience Manager

Audit and Risk Recruitment has been mandated on an exciting newly created Risk and Resilience Manager role for a growing finance business based near Derby.

The role requires 2-3 days a week in the Derby offices.

Reporting into the Head of Operational Risk, this is a newly created role and represents an opportunity for a the successful candidate to help shape and grow the operational risk function. As with all governance improvement positions, you will need to build relationships with senior stakeholders, in order to maximize delivery, as well as opportunity to engage with Audit Committee and EXCO.

This position may suit a Risk / Operational Risk Analyst looking to gain more exposure to and interaction with Senior Management.

Role responsibilities:

• Ensure the delivery of the Risk Management Framework
• Overseeing the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process to ensure active, known and emerging risks are identified
• Deliver risk training across the business.
• Develop a culture of proactive, insight driven risk management.
• Own the Risk / Loss Event capture and analysis experience and ensure mitigation and resolution plans, issues / findings reporting, and action plans are completed.
• Work with the business to develop a culture of risk management by coordinating and assisting with the implementation of Risk Management Framework activities and delivering an aligned approach to risk management across the organisation.
• Support the Head of Operational Risk and Chief Risk Officer with any queries and the ongoing improvement of the second line of defence across MAB.
• Potential to include line management responsibilities.
• Maintain the Operational Resilience framework throughout the business in line with regulatory expectations, including identifying important business services, documenting impact tolerances, process mapping and identifying vulnerabilities
• Attend and be a member of the Resilience & Recovery Committee and provide challenge to the resilience framework
• Development of combined Business Resilience Framework to inc Operational Resilience, BCP & DR and Tech resilience.
• Facilitate the delivery of the annual testing plan for Resilience

Background Requirements

• Risk Management / Operational Risk experience
• Work as part of team that deal with frameworks own a bigger portion of the framework team
• Exposure to RCAs, continuous improvement and ideally, building risk register
• Experience of operational resilience and UK regulatory expectations
• Understanding of new operational resilience regulations and important business services.
• Experience of delivering and supporting scenario planning and testing
