Job description

Retail Risk and Compliance Analyst
£37,000 - £45,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A)
Manchester city centre. In this role you'll work in a hybrid way - splitting your time between home and the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy)
We're looking for a Retail Risk and Compliance Analyst to join our Risk Health and Safety team and focus on process optimisation and reviewing our data to make sure we are compliant and trading legally and safely. If you can bring us the amazing analytical skills we need, we can offer you a chance to make a visible impact and build a career with a business that always puts people at the heart of its strategy.
We'll look to you to analyse data, identify trends and issues relating to health and safety compliance and potentially fraudulent transactional activity and develop data solutions that alert the business to fraud and health and safety risks. You'll be working with the development of new automation and processes whilst using the latest Microsoft Power platforms. It's a big job with a lot of responsibility. And it's an even greater opportunity for career development and the chance to make a huge impact leading the Co-op with integrating AI, reducing business loss, and making stores safer for our colleagues and customers.
What you'll do
- Be responsible for compliance reporting to make sure stores are operating safely and legally
- Manage the continued development of PowerBI applications
- Proactively look into automation and streamlining of processes
- Embrace latest business tools and new technology, including Power Automate and Power Apps
- Analyse all transactional data, looking at what's outside the norm and identifying trends and investigating suspicious transactions, collating information together to build a case
- Look at the data to identify opportunities to improve processes or spot training needs
- Complete weekly and period reporting, showing trends and highlighting opportunities for improvement
- Manage cases end-to-end, monitoring an inbox and responding to queries

This role would suit people who have
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Power Platform, with the ability to confidently manipulate data, use basic formulas and functions and produce reports
- Experience working with large sets of data, able to analyse and tell the story behind it
- An inquisitive mind-set, with the ability to spot trends and find solutions
- The ability to use data to tell a compelling story for other areas of the business
- Great communication skills, with a talent for building strong relationships with partners across the business

Why Co-op?
If you have the skills that we need, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services).
- An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
- 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
- A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
- Private healthcare
- Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
- Coaching and training to support your career development
- Wagestream app - giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn
- YuLife app - rewarding you for exercising with discounts and vouchers for your favourite brands
