The Risk Management function provides a central service to the whole Volkswagen Bank UK branch (VWB) organisation. It forms a key part in developing a positive approach to risk management within the Company’s business strategy ensuring consistent standards are adopted

As Risk Operations & Process Manager, you will be responsible for the management and monitoring of all compliance lead risks, including but not limited to, Business Continuity Management (BCM), Operational Risk, Risk department relevant outsourcing and Strategic Crisis Management (SCM) for VWB portfolios

In addition, you will also be responsible for ensuring the Business is protected from Financial Crime, along with informing, supporting and helping to develop the strategy. A key purpose will be to take a proactive approach to the prevention, disruption, and investigation of financial crime

This is what you could be doing:

  • You will manage the delivery of the VWB Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) for VWB UK; defining the scope for the UK BCM Lifecycle, ensuring all regulatory requirements are adhered to, and ensuring all deadlines set by HQ are met
  • Manage any external relationships required under the BCM program and Outsourcing Framework; ensuring all BCM and Outsourcing requirements are met through the procurement and contract formation processes
  • You will manage the delivery of required BCM awareness and training requirements; ensuring all internal stakeholders are fully aware of their responsibilities under the BCM program
  • Manage the delivery of the Strategic Crisis Management and Operational Risk activity for VWB UK
  • Work across VWB UK cultivating and maintaining key relationships, providing advice and education on operational risk issues to maintain effective mitigation and measures
  • Providing operational risk management information to relevant departments that enables them to understand and where necessary, take action to mitigate operational risks
  • Ongoing development and implementation of required frameworks to ensure all Risk compliance procedures are reviewed and compliant with OMEB requirements
  • Development and implementation of the Policies and Processes being put in place as required by both the Anti-Financial Crime Methodologies and Stock Audit
  • You will work closely with and support the VW Bank Branch Manager and Head of Risk specifically in respect of their duties as MLRO and Deputy MLRO with thorough knowledge of AML Regulations and Financial Crime Legislation

  • You will have knowledge of AML and Financial Crime legislation gained in automotive financial services or banking
  • Previous experience with an in-depth understanding of the use of operational risk and other risk management tools
  • You have highly developed written and report writing skills and can clearly document and communicate analysis and findings
  • You can also communicate and present to all anyone in our organisation and tailor your communication for technical and non-technical audiences
  • You’re a detailed thinker who understands multi-threaded arguments and can draw clear and concise conclusions from this
  • You can build strong working relationships with colleagues and across the business
  • Proven track record of working in a high-performing team and the ability to work and liaise effectively across the business as a whole
  • You have, or can, develop a comprehensive understanding of all relevant Financial Crime Legislation, including Theft Act, Data Protection Act, Terrorism Act, Proceeds of Crime Act, Fraud Act and Money Laundering Regulations
