Job description

Manage the movement and clearance of goods in and out of UK in line with current customs regulations
Ensure timely management of drivers arriving /departing requiring documentation processing.
Assist in product development and process improvement
Ensure business needs are met
RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate with HMRC and other authorities to ensure goods are cleared and released
Ensure HMRC rules and regulations are adhered to.
Liaise with customers (both internal and external) providing updates on shipment status, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise.
Ensure company values and strategies are followed
Feed market information into business to ensure we offer most competitive service
Work closely with sales team to grow customer share of wallet
Support Customs Freight Manager in the development and growth of department
AdHoc functions as and when required and directed by line manager
Assist other departments as and when required / feasible
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
1-2 years HMRC entry processing / CDS experience
Good HSS code knowledge / classification
Basic understanding of PEACH and DEFRA applications
Good temperature controlled equipment knowledge
Knowledge or experience of importing or exporting fresh produce / foodstuff
Experience with Cargowise a bonus
