Rolling Mill Operative (Permanent), Barnsley S75

Due to continued expansion, we are currently seeking an experienced Rolling-Mill Operative to join our small, friendly client in the Barnsley S75 area. This is a permanent job role and you will become an essential part of a globally known business working towards a long-term career.

Details and Benefits:

• Salary £31,636+ per annum depending on experience
• Shifts:
  Days: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am to 4:30pm & Friday 1pm finish
  Nights: Monday to Thursday, 6pm to 6am
• Permanent contract
• Working for a highly established growing business
• Immediate start available
• Weekends off
• Onsite parking

Duties Include:

• Set up and operate the Rolling Mill in order to compress various materials into custom made thickness and shapes
• Adjusting and changing of rollers, buffs and guides according to customer requirements
• Observe the Rolling Mill to detect curling, splitting and production defects of materials
• Quality inspection of all finished products
• Manual handing and feeding of materials when needed
• Completion of paperwork when required
• General housekeeping and maintenance
• Various other duties

Skills Required:

• Candidates must have previous Milling experience
• Full understanding of how to set-up and operate the Milling Machine
• Physically fit and experience working within a similar environment
• Previous experience working within an engineering environment would be an advantage
• Excellent eye for detail
• You must be able to work effectively under your initiative
