We are working with a pioneering health-tech to help them find a Ruby Developer to join their team in central Bristol. This fast-growing business have developed products to help thousands of people particularly those with disabilities and/or from a neurodiverse background. They’re looking for people who share in their vision and are passionate about using technology as a force for good.  They’re open to applications from mid-senior developers looking to work in a 10 strong, quality driven team committed to making a difference with the products they make.
They're looking for someone to work in their office 1-2 times per week for this role (Central Bristol).
What skills you’ll need to apply
  • Ruby / Ruby on Rails.
Any of the following would be great:
  • TypeScript.
  • Node.js.
  • Cypress (E2E testing).
  • CSS.
  • Docker.
  • Postgres.
  • Redis.
  • Able to work in collaboration with others, taking ownership of solutions and ensuring high quality of the codebase and its continual improvement.
What you’ll be doing

Core responsibilities will cover delivering technical solutions and project deliverables to a high level.  You’ll be working on a mixture of backend solutions and frontend rendered UI using Ruby on Rails with Stimulus and Typescript with CSS.  They’ll look for you to identify and prioritise technical and non-functional requirements and give technical insight to others.  They really enjoy team members helping them to improve and get involved with new initiatives so there’ll be plenty of opportunities to suggest new ideas.  The long term health of the codebase is really important to them and the need for it to be intuitive for other developers whilst being efficient, reusable and reliable.  The role will suit an inquisitive problem solver who is familiar working with mature engineering practices and processes.
