Using your knowledge and being up to speed with the latest legislation, you will manage and review safeguarding cases to ensure that appropriate safeguarding actions are carried out in a timely way to ensure risk is minimised.

Your Role

Working within our Customer Independence team, you’ll lead the delivery of our approach to Safeguarding and other issues that may affect our at-risk customers to ensure that we remain compliant with statutory requirements and best practice guidance. You’ll also provide support and advice to our customers who are at risk of /or experiencing abuse.

Continuous improvement is key to the role and you’ll complete regular case audits and record all findings, implementing any required recommendations following lessons learnt. Another exciting part of the role is to facilitate forum meetings, utilising accessible methods for customers, colleagues, and stakeholders in relation to Safeguarding, including the safeguarding committee meeting. So, what do we need from you?

The answer is simple - if you are hardworking, driven, have a proven track record in the safeguarding environment and hungry for your next challenge then we would love to hear from you!

The below would also be great;  

  • A passion and enthusiasm for the Safeguarding of vulnerable and at-risk customers
  • Empathy, understanding and a person-centred approach
  • Up to date knowledge & experience in safeguarding, having worked with or alongside Local Authorities, Safeguarding Adults & Safeguarding Children partnerships previously
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting customers experiencing Domestic abuse
  • Knowledge of current legislation & guidance relating to Safeguarding & Domestic Abuse
  • Excellent organisational skills including an ability to prioritise tasks and manage varying deadlines
  • The ability to communicate effectively, clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing with colleagues and customers, particularly vulnerable persons and young people
  • An eagerness to develop own skills and adapt to change
  • Personal values and approach that align with YH’s values
  • The ability to work flexibly in line with Hub, Home and Roam principles
  • An understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity and how this is applied through our service to customers and colleagues.
