Job description

Do you have a passion for safeguarding? This is an exciting opportunity to join the LCC Safeguarding in Schools Team supporting education settings across Lincolnshire with safeguarding and child protection advice, guidance and training.

Our Safeguarding in Schools Team sits within the Inclusion and Attendance Education Support service which consists of an inclusive team who are responsible for supporting the local authority to fulfil its statutory duties with respect to school attendance, part-time employment of children of compulsory school age, children in entertainment, children missing education, elective home educated children and safeguarding in schools.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be involved specifically with supporting education settings across the county, working within our safeguarding in schools service area and will be involved with the following areas of work;

  • Updating the local authority's safeguarding policy, training package and audit
  • Seeking annual safeguarding audit assurances from education settings including moderation
  • Helping to plan and deliver safeguarding events
  • Advice and guidance for schools for safeguarding queries (not referrals)
  • Attendance at Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Partnership meetings
  • Communicating regularly with education settings via safeguarding bulletins and online platforms
  • Assisting with Ofsted safeguarding complaints

 

This is part time position working 18.5 hours per week, we can provide flexibility on the days of work.

We are looking for:

  • A skilled communicator, the role involves much relationship building and dialogue with education settings.
  • Good time management, we're a busy team, always on the go with tight deadlines.
  • An understanding of education statutory guidance
