Job description


The post holder will support all activities necessary to ensure that Surrey and Luton services, HCRG Care Group meets its responsibilities to safeguard/protect Adults children and  young people, This includes contributing to the organisational wide safeguarding agenda.

This post is home-based with an element of travel as required .

You will report to the Director of Community Services but have no direct reports yourself.

This is a part-time position with flexibility on discussion of working hour timings.

Main Responsibilities
Be responsible to and accountable within the managerial framework of Surrey services  ( Adult community services and Special Care Dentistry) and Luton  services intermediate care and MSK services
Develop programmes/ pathways that support the local teams to deliver their contractual obligations and to optimise the health outcome for adults, children, young people,  and to contribute to the development of wider organisational safeguarding policies, processes and procedures
Support and advise colleagues in their responsibility to safeguarding within service provision through HCRG Care Group’s clinical governance processes
Support, advise and provide safeguarding assurance to the local quality, assurance meeting
Provide assurance to the National safeguarding and children in care sub-committee
Contribute to the planning and strategic organisation of safeguarding services

The Ideal CandidateYou will be a registered nurse. You will have a minimum of 5 years’ post registration experience working in a health or social care environment and be able to demonstrate your leadership experience which includes oversight of quality, governance and safety of healthcare services. A proven ability to influence and drive change and improvement with senior leaders is also a requirement.

You'll have completed specific post-registration training in safeguarding adults and / or  children and young people/child protection prior to commencement in the post (including law, policy, and practice at Level 2 or Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip). Having a minimum of three years’ experience practising in the field of safeguarding.

You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
