The Role
As a Safeguarding Officer, you will take responsibility for the management of safeguarding complaints and cases.
Specifically, you will assess safeguarding concerns and complaints, managing the risks, handle calls from survivors, ensuring they are responded to in an appropriate and timely manner and review ongoing cases.
You will be integral to the implementation of National Safeguarding Policies on behalf of our client’s leaders and Trustees and will develop strong relationships throughout the Safeguarding Team. In particular, you will support the Safeguarding Co-ordinator whilst working collaboratively with safeguarding volunteers and professionals in parishes, religious orders and other organisations.
Additionally, you will:
- Conduct regular reviews of local policies and procedures and implement actions
- Maintain accurate and timely written case records
- Ensure that confidentiality is maintained in line with agreed policies and protocols
About You
To be considered as a Safeguarding Officer, you will need:
- Experience in a similar safeguarding role
- Experience of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults
- Experience of dealing sensitively and professionally with vulnerable groups
- Knowledge of legislation affecting safeguarding
- A degree or equivalent qualification
