Develop and enhance our approach to collaborative learning and safeguarding adults

The Role:

When you join us in this vital role, you’ll lead the clinical and strategic development of our approach to safeguarding adult reviews, and ensure collaborative learning is embedded across the council and with our key partners. Committed to influencing thinking across the bi-borough partnership of the RBKC and Westminster City Council, and with internal council directorates, you’ll work closely with our service users or their families and representatives to ensure their voices are heard throughout the review process.

Working with other departments to find collaborative solutions to a range of challenges, and embedding a Safeguarding Strategic approach across the organisation, you’ll support the development of the quality assurance provider concerns process. When needed, we’ll expect you to provide covering support within the Operational Safeguarding team, lead on the Learning and Development Programme, and train and present on themes resulting from safeguarding adult reviews to our front line workers.

You’ll have a range of additional responsibilities, including leading on project work and analysing national and local data that supports improvements to our practice. You’ll also line manage the Safeguarding Board Manager and produce an annual report which demonstrates the value of the positive work we do.

About You:

With a track record of leading the development of adult safeguarding policy or strategic safeguarding arrangements across multiple organisations, you’ll be skilled at building strong, collaborative relationships with residents and other partners. A brilliant problem solver, you’ll be ready to work both independently and as part of a team as you advance actions that benefit our bi-borough partnership. We’ll also look for excellent project management skills, the ability to operate within strict legal frameworks, and the skills to coach and mentor staff to support improvements to their practice.

Resilient, creative and influential, your superb written and verbal communication skills will allow you to produce concise briefings for a variety of stakeholders within short timeframes, Capable of interrogating, analysing and interpreting information from a variety of sources to solve problems and make decisions, your commitment to equality, diversity and inclusivity will be evident in everything you do. We’ll look for a good academic qualification in a relevant discipline or the necessary practical skills and experience, and in addition to being a confident user of the MS Office suite of software, you’ll possess good knowledge of national government frameworks to implement safeguarding strategies.
