Job description

Working with communities to deliver meaningful change

Doing things differently.

Safer Streets Youth Listening Coordinator

£31,607 - £36,371 per annum (pro rata)

Full time/Fixed term - 10 month contract

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a dynamic individual to coordinate a Youth Listening campaign in the Nottingham communities of Bulwell and Clifton funded in partnership with the Office of the Police Crime Commissioner.

You will coordinate a campaign that seeks the lived experience of young people, their families and those who work with young people.

You will also co-produce and co-deliver a youth leadership programme with young people and community partners that empowers participants to conduct a deeper, peer to peer listening process that you will support.

You and the youth leadership team will co-produce a final report to be shared with stakeholders that makes recommendations for the commissioning of further funding to support the delivery of change that aims to reduce violent crime and anti-social behaviour and build trust and confidence in the police and other authorities who support crime reduction.

You will be a dynamic, self-motivated individual. You are someone with a demonstrable ability to engage with young people who are engaged in or vulnerable to being drawn into criminal activity. Your ability to connect with, and develop these young people is of greater value to this role than your prior experience of project management.

We especially welcome applications from candidates who are from one of the two communities and who have lived experience that aligns with the young people with whom you will be engaging. Training and support with the more technical aspects of the work will be provided.

For more details, please take a look at the role profile.  We will still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.

Interview date: Friday 26 April (tbc)
