Safety Camera Operator

Salary: Starts at £24,921 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £27,351 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
The Role
An opportunity has arisen to join the highly regarded Police Road Safety Team where you will play a pivotal role in providing a range of road safety enforcement to prevent loss of life on the roads and help to make roads safer.
You will be extensively trained in a range of innovative technology including Artificial Intelligence that is used to prevent collisions and casualties on Dorset’s roads and become part of a highly motivated team.
This role will include driving Safety Camera vans and operating a range of Safety Cameras both inside and outside of the vans and on occasion working with uniformed colleagues and public volunteers. Camera operators work to a shift pattern running from 06.00 - 22.00.
You will be trained on the relevant police IT systems to allow the production of the necessary documentation to enable you to present robust prosecution evidence within Her Majesty’s Courts to ensure the process of law takes place.
Once trained you will be a valuable part of the Police family and carry out a role that daily contributes to the welfare of everyone living in or visiting Dorset.
