Job title: Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager
Location: Blackpool
Contract type: Permanent
Work pattern: Full time Mon-Fri
Remuneration: £55,000 - £65,000 plus 8% bonus

About the role
You will be responsible for championing safety, health and environmental management on site and promoting a safety culture for all SHE related activities. This includes working on the continuous development and improvement of the site to reduce accidents and improve environmental performance, and developing and maintaining FBC UK safety standards across the site.
Other key actions will be but not limited to:
- Act as the site's expert resource and key contact on all SHE matters and employer liability claims
- Ensure appropriate budget is available and spent on SHE requirements
- Provide advice and support in the planning, measuring, reviewing and auditing of SHE activities to meet legal requirements and company policies and procedures
- Manage the SHE function, contributing to continuous improvement projects whilst ensuring SHE requirements are met
- Provide strategies to organise work systems to reduce SHE associated risks and recommend suitable adaptations to machinery and processes
- Maintain employer's liability and other records to ensure confidentiality and compliance with GDPR
- Implement and monitor incident investigation, including the reporting and analysis of data
- Develop the site safety strategy with regular updates to relevant stakeholders
- Assess and advise on the effectiveness of any proposed control measures to protect human and environmental health and safety
What are the key ingredients needed for the role?
- ?Previous experience in a management of SHE role within food manufacturing
- Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety law and proven record of implementation and maintenance of these processes
- Excellent knowledge of best practice, industry standards and experience implementing these
- Good knowledge of environmental or sustainability practices
- Understanding of how local Government departments work and ability to proactively engage to develop good relationships with key stakeholders
- Agility in thinking and behaviours
- Previous management experience
