Sales Account Manager

Due to repositioning of the current lead for Client Management and New Business within the company, our Loughborough based clients re looking for an Account Manager to take on a large portion of these responsibilities within the business.
While the successful candidate will still be supported for initial new business meetings and some of the existing client meetings the role still requires a lead person in looking ant new business strategy and management of key clients.
The split of the role will be approximately 70% existing accounts and 30% new business working directly for the companies MD.
Responsibilities
- Handling all new business opportunities, whether they be from existing clients or through new lead generation
- Identifying Sales Goals - Setting accurate and realistic sales goals based on the below whilst also providing weekly updates to the SMT as to how these are progressing:
- What the sales goals and targets should be (with support of the SMT), monitoring sales targets and strategy to achieve these.
- Support of marketing activities, share best practices with the SMT and marketing team to best achieve the sales goals set out
- Managing Accounts – An introduction to these accounts over time to ensure smooth transition and becoming the main point of contact.
Required Skills:
- Previous Account Management experience – working with a variety of clients/retailers
- Good sales skills – able to grow existing accounts and generate new clients
- Excellent communication & People skills
- Forecasting, Financial and general numeracy skills
- Presentation skills – able to comfortably present the company at all levels
- Leadership, training and mentoring skills
- Technology skills
- Organised
- Proven history of working within the VM, Retail and POS industry
- 5 years plus experience
- Wiling and able to work as part of the wider team and support with projects
