JOB TYPE: Permanent

Your new company
Our client is a well established grower with big, secure contracts in place with many of the major supermarkets. They have approached Hays, and we're working exclusively with them to find the next person to join their admin team because the current post holder is retiring after many years in the job, which we think speaks volumes both about how interesting the job is and what a great place to work the company is.
Your new role
This job is to work with the commercial director to stay on top of and report on sales figures, pallets and logistics data and to support the director and sales team on information that is coming in from customers like order volumes, sales and costs. You'll also provide general Admin Support to the buying team, updating spreadsheets and running standard reports on a weekly and monthly basis. And most importantly, you will be the link between the growers and the supermarkets, answering questions and raising any issues to the relevant colleagues in the business.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be working in a very friendly but small team, so it's really important that you can work independently, occasionally finding your own answers to questions. My client is looking for someone that has worked in a job before that has involved reporting and using Excel spreadsheets a fair bit. You'll also need to show us superb interpersonal skills, because this job needs someone who can build relationships with people from all walks of life.
What you'll get in return
Knowing that the person that is currently in this job has been there for such a long time is an amazing testimonial to the friendliness of the company & its customers and the job security that you can look forward to. You'll work with a very down-to-earth bunch of people (as you often find in this sector) and the company has a good salary package for the level of responsibility that this job has a better than most holiday allowance at 22 days per year plus the bank holidays and you get access to an enhanced pension scheme once you've passed your probation.
