Role / Department
We are currently seeking a Sales AssociateUK & Ireland, based in London, reporting to the Senior Sales Executive for UK & Ireland. The individual will be tasked with originating new business for Northern Trust Asset Management's Equity and Fixed Income strategies with Intermediaries in the region and to work alongside the Senior Sales Executive for UK & Ireland on Institutional and cross business opportunities.

This role will also provide an excellent platform for a highly motivated individual to grow their expertise on investment solutions and distribution channels, whilst being exposed to all facets of our Asset Management business and our broader Global Corporation.
Key responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a distribution strategy for Intermediaries in the UK in support of the UK & Ireland wide strategy set by the Senior Sales Executive for UK & Ireland
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of opportunities in order to make an active contribution to the new business targets for the region
  • Maintain strong relationships with key decision makers in the channel and in the market
  • Support the Senior Sales Executive for UK & Ireland in complex opportunities that involve multiple internal teams within Northern Trust Asset Management as well as within our broader Northern Trust Corporation
  • Support regional, internal business development needs across Northern Trust's business units - IIG, GFS, GFO
  • Work closely with Portfolio Management and Client Portfolio Management to develop an extensive knowledge of the investment strategy and market dynamics
  • Analyse client types, industry and market drive themes to identify client acquisition opportunities. Develop and maintain data on relevant prospective clients
  • Assist with the development of Marketing Collateral and Thought leadership
  • Collaborate with internal teams to the success of industry events. Lead on the organisation of client experiences
  • Be a contributing member of a team that thrives on partnership, innovation, and execution
Knowledge/Skills
  • Ability to build a book of business through active prospecting and networking
  • 2 to 4 years' experience in distributing Equity and Fixed Income Solutions, ideally index and factor investing
  • Experience in selling ESG integrating investment solutions, knowledge of landscape and trends
  • Experience in selling into Intermediary investors is desirable
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Relevant industry qualifications - IMC, CFA, CFA ESG, CFA Climate - or willingness to complete once in role
  • Entrepreneurial, high energy, motivated, committed to excellence, can-do mentality
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to travel consistently
  • Ability to work under time pressures both individually and as a team member
  • Excellent logical and problem-solving skills. Able to easily understand new systems, concepts, data flows, and develop creative solutions where necessary
