My client based in County Durham are a leading independent builders merchant who cover the North East England, The Scottish Boarders, Cumbria and Teesside. They operate from a network of 21 branches and also offer a comprehensive stock range of timber and building supplies, heating and plumbing materials, as well as kitchens and bathrooms. About the role:
I am currently seeking a
Sales Consultant (Plumbing and Heating)
for their branch in
Tyne & Wear.
Main Duties:
The main duties for this role include:
Selling the full range of products to both retails and trade customers
Working towards a set of sales targets
Monitoring results and identifying improvement opportunities
Interpreting customer needs accurately
Responding quickly and efficiently to customer enquiries
Ensuring accurate pricing of orders
Contributing to the success of the branch
Developing ongoing working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
Providing excellent customer service at all times within a fast-moving environment
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous customer service and/or sales experience, ideally from a merchant background
Strong communication skills
Excellent knowledge of Plumbing and Heating products
Proven track record selling and negotiating, both in person and over the phone
An interest in developing a career in a busy sales environment
Real passion to deliver excellent customer service, both in person and over the phone
Natural drive for achieving targets
The ability to be resilient and adaptable with the ability to juggle changing priorities

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 07.30am to 5.00pm plus alternate Saturdays 08.00am to 12.00pm.
